Shanghai Pudong International Airport (IATA: PVG, ICAO: ZSPD) is one of two international airports serving Shanghai and a major aviation hub of East Asia. Pudong Airport serves both international flights and a smaller number of domestic fights. Located about 30 kilometers east of the city center, Pudong Airport occupies a 40-square-kilometre site adjacent to the coastline in eastern Pudong.
Pudong Airport can serve 80 million passengers every year. And it is the busiest international hub in China, with about half of its total passenger traffic being international.
Pudong Airport once faced problems such as outdated parking management equipment, low efficiency of vehicle traffic caused by a single charging method, and difficulty in finding parking spaces on-site. After a detailed understanding of the requirements by pre-sales engineers, JIESHUN customized a personalized parking management solution for Pudong Airport. The solution uses license plate recognition as access authentication, and each parking space is equipped with an ultrasonic sensor, which can display the occupancy of the parking space in real time. It is worth mentioning that the new management system supports a variety of payment methods, including senseless payment, mobile payment, self-service terminal payment, cash payment, card payment, etc.
After the perfect implementation of the project, the traffic mobility of Pudong Airport has been significantly improved, supporting 30,000 vehicles to enter and exit every day.
