The T/SZAS 80-2024 “Technical Requirements for Information Collection and Recognition of Hong Kong and Macao Vehicle License Plates”, led and drafted by JIESHUN, has been officially recognized as a “Bay Area Standard”. It will serve as a unified standard across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, further supporting the seamless integration of Hong Kong and Macao into the region’s high-quality development.

On one hand, the standard uses digital technology to facilitate smoother access for Hong Kong and Macao vehicles traveling to mainland China, reducing travel time and easing traffic congestion. This enables more seamless cross-border mobility and enhances convenience for Hong Kong and Macao residents driving into the mainland.

On the other hand, the standard improves the service and management capabilities of mainland parking facilities. It addresses key issues in managing cross-border vehicle access, while boosting the development of related industries.

Pioneering in Hong Kong and Macao License Plate Recognition

As a leading provider of parking operation and service growth solutions, JIESHUN began developing multi-region license plate recognition algorithms for Hong Kong and Macao years ago. These technologies were first successfully deployed at key checkpoints such as the Zhuhai Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Hengqin Port in Zhuhai.
