From April 15 to May 5, the 137th Canton Fair was held in Guangzhou in three phases, themed “Advanced Manufacturing,” “Quality Home Living,” and “Better Life.” This year’s event welcomed approximately 31,000 exhibitors, with the number of export exhibitors surpassing 30,000 for the first time, and over 200,000 international buyers pre-registered — setting a new record in scale.

Efficient Vehicle Management to Handle High Traffic Volumes

As one of the largest international trade events, the Canton Fair experiences extremely high volumes of vehicles and foot traffic within concentrated timeframes. To address this challenge, JIESHUN upgraded the parking and access control systems at exhibition areas A, B, C, and D, staff parking lots, and the Canton Fair Tower A & B parking areas with its latest smart parking management system and intelligent hardware.

The system supports license plate recognition, smart billing, unified payments, voice announcements, and video intercom. Vehicles are identified automatically, and boom barriers are opened swiftly, ensuring fast entry and exit even during peak hours. It also supports 24/7 unmanned operations and features real-time vehicle traffic monitoring through a centralized data dashboard, enabling smooth parking experiences for all exhibitors and visitors.

Precise Parking Control to Meet Charging Demands

During the fair, diverse vehicle parking needs arise, including those of permit holders, staff, temporary visitors, and logistics trucks. To meet the demand for managing EV parking spaces, JIESHUN equipped 17 charging spaces with surveillance pillars and parking space locks. These devices monitor space usage in real time, automatically recognize authorized EV license plates, and unlock the parking locks accordingly. This enables precise control over charging spot usage, prevents unauthorized occupation, and ensures that electric vehicles can charge when needed.

Vehicle Data Visualization Drives Smart Operations

One of the highlights during the Canton Fair was the real-time vehicle data dashboard deployed in the control center. Powered by IoT, cloud computing, and big data, the system visualizes live vehicle traffic data across the venue.

The dashboard displays critical information such as vehicle flow, available parking spots, utilization rates, and traffic trends for each exhibition hall. It also provides live video feeds from 75 vehicle lanes, enabling the operations center to monitor vehicle movement and make data-driven decisions. When congestion or parking shortages are detected in any area, the system issues alerts, allowing operators to quickly adjust traffic distribution and parking allocation, ensuring seamless traffic flow and effective emergency response.

Secure and Efficient Staff Access Control

Efficient pedestrian access is crucial for the smooth operation of the Canton Fair. JIESHUN deployed a dedicated pedestrian access solution for staff, integrating facial recognition terminals. Staff can enter and exit using face or ID verification for accurate and swift authentication, significantly reducing manual verification times and ensuring that only authorized personnel access restricted zones. This enhances operational efficiency and venue security.
